No experience -or water- necessary! A Sound Bath is a deeply-immersive, full-body listening experience that uses sound tones and frequencies to gently activate the parasympathetic nervous system - enabling deep rest of the mind and body. Effects may include renewed energy, tranquility, creativity, and healing. In general, a sound bath is a meditative experience where those in attendance are “bathed” or "enveloped" in ambient sound waves with notable rich resonance and tones. These waves are produced by various acoustic instruments including gongs, singing bowls, chimes, and more - even the human voice itself. Participants will relax physically while hearing and feeling sound waves/vibrations from the instruments. The sounds it are generally less structured than typical music compositions to allow the brain to relax and find a meditative state. Sound frequencies are known to help calm the mind while increasing energy, reduce stress, improve sleep, and release both physical and emotional pain. The tones help balance the mind, body, and spirit, promoting a sense of peace and well-being, and vitality. The instruments I utilize include but are not limited to Crystal Chahkra Singing Bowls, Gongs, and Chimes. Aromatherapy essentials oils are also optionally offered. I often combine sound baths with a guided yoga nidra meditation. |
